Rogers FUNDS AFFECTED:XGENERAL IMPACT: State DEDICATED FEDERAL Summary of Legislation: The bill provides that an individual who completes a United States Department of Labor registered apprenticeship program for barbers or manicurists is eligible to take the licensure examination of the applicable profession. Effective Date: July 1, 2025. Explanation of State Expenditures: Summary– The PLA would likely need to update forms, information, and rules to implement this requirement. This can be accomplished within the PLA’s existing staffing and resource levels. Additional Information– There were 8 barber and 3 cosmetologist apprenticeships in Indiana during FY 2024. The number of manicurists within the cosmetologist apprenticeships total is currently unknown.
