HOUSE BILL No. 1463
A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
Medicaid.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
1 SECTION 1. IC 12-15-5-7.5 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
2 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
3 1, 2025]: Sec. 7.5. (a) As used in this section, "office" includes the
4 following:
5 (1) The office of the secretary of family and social services.
6 (2) A managed care organization that has contracted with the
7 office of Medicaid policy and planning under this article.
8 (b) The office shall provide coverage for group pregnancy
9 services that provide prenatal and postnatal care in a group setting
10 of at least eight (8) pregnant women and not more than twelve (12)
11 pregnant women who receive prenatal care throughout the second
12 and third trimester of pregnancy and postpartum as follows:
13 (1) During the second trimester of pregnancy, at least four (4)
14 monthly sessions that include:
15 (A) at least thirty (30) minutes and not more than forty
16 (40) minutes of self-assessment and individual assessment
17 with a health care provider; and

1 (B) at least sixty (60) minutes and not more than
2 seventy-five (75) minutes of group session with interactive
3 learning and questions.
4 (2) During the third trimester of pregnancy, at least one (1)
5 meeting every two (2) weeks through forty (40) weeks of
6 pregnancy that includes:
7 (A) at least thirty (30) minutes and not more than forty
8 (40) minutes of self-assessment and individual assessment
9 with a health care provider; and
10 (B) at least sixty (60) minutes and not more than
11 seventy-five (75) minutes of group session with interactive
12 learning and questions.
13 (3) One (1) meeting at least at four (4) weeks postpartum but
14 not later than eight (8) weeks postpartum for an assessment
15 and interactive learning with a health care provider.
16 (c) The office of the secretary shall apply to the United States
17 Department of Health and Human Services for any Medicaid state
18 plan amendment or Medicaid waiver necessary to implement this
19 section.
