Summary of Legislation: The bill requires school corporations and charter schools to offer a cash payment
option at athletic events beginning July 1, 2025.
Effective Date: July 1, 2025.

Explanation of Local Expenditures: Beginning in FY 2026, the bill requires a school corporation to allow
cash payment options during athletic events in which an admission fee is charged. This may represent a
minor workload increase for schools to update point of sale systems, and to the extent cash registers need
to be purchased, expenditures could increase.
