Rogers FUNDS AFFECTED:XGENERAL IMPACT: State DEDICATED FEDERAL Summary of Legislation: The bill provides that a person who has entered into a contract to play baseball at the minor league level and is compensated under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement is excluded from the definition of "employee" for purposes of the minimum wage law. It provides that a record of daily and weekly hours and wages is not required for any person who has entered into a contract to play baseball at the minor league level and is compensated under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement. Effective Date: July 1, 2025. Explanation of State Expenditures: The Department of Labor would have a decrease in workload to enforce minimum wage law and wage and hour reporting for individuals contracted to play baseball at the minor league level.
