RESOLUTION No. ____
1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Chief Steven
2 Orusa upon his retirement from the Fishers Fire Department.
3 Whereas, Fire Chief Steven Orusa will be retiring from the
4 Fishers Fire Department after 14 years of service;
5 Whereas, Chief Orusa has worked in law enforcement and
6 fire service positions for 40 years;
7 Whereas, He joined the Fishers Fire Department in May
8 2011, and prior to becoming Fishers fire chief, he helped lead
9 the planning operation for Super Bowl XLVI that Indianapolis
10 hosted in 2012;
11 Whereas, During his tenure, he was instrumental in adding
12 emergency services and a paramedicine program to the fire
13 department, and he also assisted in the creation of the Fishers
14 Health Department during the COVID-19 pandemic; and
15 Whereas, Chief Steven Orusa has selflessly served his
16 community through a career in public safety that has spanned
17 over four decades: Therefore,
18 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives
19 of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
20 the Senate concurring:
21 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly honors
22 Chief Steven Orusa upon his retirement from the Fishers Fire
23 Department.
24 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of

1 Representatives shall transmit a copy of this resolution to State
2 Representative Victoria Garcia Wilburn for distribution.
