1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION recognizing Reman Day.
2 Whereas, Remanufacturing is a comprehensive and rigorous
3 industrial process by which a previously sold, leased, used,
4 worn, remanufactured, or nonfunctional product or part is
5 returned to a like-new, same-as-when-new, or
6 better-than-when-new condition, from both a quality and
7 performance perspective, through a controlled, reproducible,
8 and sustainable process;
9 Whereas, A 2012 United States International Trade
10 Commission (USITC) report found that remanufacturers
11 support at least 180,000 full-time jobs in the United States. The
12 USITC report states that production of remanufactured goods
13 in the United States increased by 15 percent from 2009 to 2011
14 and exports totaled $11.2 billion annually;

1 Whereas, Remanufacturing has been recognized by leading
2 universities, research institutions, and manufacturers in the
3 United States as valuable for its ability to divert end-of-life
4 products from landfills;
5 Whereas, By encouraging businesses, state agencies,
6 nonprofit organizations, schools, and individuals to celebrate
7 Reman Day 2025, we can further promote remanufacturing as
8 efficient and economically smart; and
9 Whereas, To focus the nation's attention on the benefits of
10 remanufacturing, businesses, educational institutions, and
11 nonprofit organizations have joined together to celebrate
12 Reman Day and are encouraging their colleagues, friends,
13 families, and communities to learn more about the benefits of
14 remanufactured products: Therefore,
15 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
16 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
17 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
18 recognizes Thursday, April 24, 2025, as Reman Day.
19 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
20 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to State
21 Representative Robb Greene for distribution.
