1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION recognizing the 50th
2 anniversary of Frog Follies.
3 Whereas, In January 1975, the E'ville Iron Street Rods, Ltd.,
4 pre-1949 street rod club was founded by a group of street rod
5 enthusiasts;
6 Whereas, Members of the group wanted to host a street rod
7 show. To raise funds to promote that event, club members
8 organized Saturday car washes at a local Marathon station;
9 Whereas, The club's inaugural street rod show in August
10 1975 was a one-day event at the Vanderburgh 4H Center
11 named the Der E'ville Iron Street Rod Fest. Approximately 50
12 street rods attended the event with activities including games,
13 a dance, and a cruise-in;

1 Whereas, As the event grew, club members discussed
2 rebranding their street rod event in efforts to attract more street
3 rodders and spectators. Club members named the event after
4 the infamous bullfrog jumping contest held at the first Rod Fest.
5 Hence, Frog Follies Rod Run, as it's known today, was created;
6 Whereas, Decades later, Frog Follies has grown to an
7 annual event hosting approximately 3,000 registered street
8 rods, becoming the largest pre-1949 independent street rod
9 event in the entire nation;
10 Whereas, Since the Frog Follies inception in 1975, more
11 than $2 million has been donated to local charities. The club
12 was recently presented the Mayor's Award for supporting
13 tri-state children and adults with disabilities;
14 Whereas, In addition to charitable donations, E'ville Iron
15 Street Rods, Ltd., has provided scholarships to tri-state high
16 school graduates pursuing careers in the automotive industry
17 to help continue street rod interest in future generations; and
18 Whereas, The Frog Follies has become a national event that
19 brings together street rodders from all over the country to
20 Evansville, Indiana, to support the local community: Therefore,
21 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
22 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
23 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
24 recognizes the 50th anniversary of Frog Follies, which will take
25 place from August 22 to August 24, 2025.
26 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
27 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to State
28 Representative Wendy McNamara for distribution.
