1 A HOUSE RESOLUTION recognizing the 90th
2 anniversary of the Evansville Philharmonic.
3 Whereas, The Evansville Philharmonic was founded in 1934
4 to bring high quality orchestral music to the people of
5 Evansville, and it celebrated the opening of its 90th anniversary
6 season in September 2024;
7 Whereas, The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestral
8 Corporation is a nonprofit organization and is also the largest
9 arts institution in the tri-state area;
10 Whereas, The Evansville Philharmonic is a professional
11 orchestra comprised of approximately 80 musicians led by
12 Music Director Roger Kalia. Many of the musicians have
13 graduated from the finest music schools in the country,
14 including Indiana University and the University of Evansville;

1 Whereas, The primary purpose of the Evansville
2 Philharmonic is to transform lives and uplift the community
3 through the power of music, focusing on its core values of
4 customer service, artistic excellence, fiscal responsibility, and
5 community enrichment; and
6 Whereas, For the last 90 years, the Evansville Philharmonic
7 has delivered stunning orchestral music to strengthen
8 connections within the Evansville community: Therefore,
9 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the
10 General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
11 SECTION 1. That the Indiana House of Representatives
12 recognizes the 90th anniversary of the Evansville Philharmonic.
13 SECTION 2. That the Principal Clerk of the House of
14 Representatives shall transmit copies of this resolution to State
15 Representative Wendy McNamara for distribution.
