Synopsis: Political subdivision retirement plans. Requires a political
subdivision offering an employee retirement plan to make an annual
presentation regarding the employee retirement plan to the county
council of each county in which the political subdivision is wholly or
partially located.

SENATE BILL No. 144
A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
pensions.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
1 SECTION 1. IC 5-11-20-7 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
2 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
3 1, 2025]: Sec. 7. (a) A political subdivision offering an employee
4 retirement plan described in section 3(b) of this chapter shall make
5 an annual presentation on the information contained in a report
6 under section 3 of this chapter for the political subdivision's
7 immediately preceding fiscal year to the county council of each
8 county in which the political subdivision is wholly or partially
9 located.
10 (b) A presentation described in subsection (a) must occur not
11 later than two (2) months before the date of a public hearing on the
12 proposed budget of the county in which the political subdivision is
13 wholly or partially located.
