Summary of Legislation: This bill amends provisions that allow school corporations to provide a
supplemental payment to teachers in excess of the salary specified in the school corporation's compensation
plan. The bill makes corresponding changes.
Effective Date: July 1, 2025.

Explanation of Local Expenditures: (Revised) Under the bill, school corporations would make certain
changes to the calculation used to determine each teacher's salary increase or increment. This would likely
shift salary increases from some teachers to others, and could have a small impact on total expenditures that
is dependent upon any changes to current agreements and negotiations at the local level.
