Synopsis:  School based health centers. Requires the department of
education, in consultation with the Indiana department of health, to
establish a program to provide technical assistance to public schools,
including charter schools, that are interested in establishing a school
based health center.
Effective:  July 1, 2025.

SENATE BILL No. 496
A BILL FOR AN ACT to amend the Indiana Code concerning
education.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
1 SECTION 1. IC 20-19-3-36 IS ADDED TO THE INDIANA CODE
2 AS A NEW SECTION TO READ AS FOLLOWS [EFFECTIVE JULY
3 1, 2025]: Sec. 36. The department shall, in consultation with the
4 Indiana department of health, establish a program to provide
5 technical assistance to public schools, including charter schools,
6 that are interested in establishing a school based health center in
7 partnership with local health systems.
