Summary of Legislation: This bill requires a person, other than an electricity supplier, that seeks
authorization to attach communications service equipment to a utility pole utilizing funds from certain state
or federal programs to report specified information to the Indiana Broadband Office (office) on a quarterly
basis regarding attachment requests made by the person during the reporting period. It also requires the office
to post the quarterly reports on the office's website and authorizes the office to adopt guidelines to implement
these provisions. The bill provides that these provisions expire July 1, 2030
Effective Date: July 1, 2025.
Explanation of State Expenditures: This bill may increase the workload of the Indiana Broadband Office
to post attachment request information on their website.
