RESOLUTION No. _____
1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Michael
2 Beresford upon his retirement from Carmel Clay Schools.
3 Whereas, Dr. Michael Beresford has faithfully served as
4 superintendent for Carmel Clay Schools since July 2018;
5 Whereas, Dr. Beresford received a B.S. in Journalism and
6 English Education from Eastern Illinois University, a Master
7 of Science from Butler University, and a Doctor of Education
8 in Superintendency and Educational System Administration
9 from Ball State;
10 Whereas, Dr. Beresford has influenced the lives of students,
11 teachers, and their families for the past 43 years with his
12 unwavering dedication to the educational system;
13 Whereas, Dr. Beresford's forward-thinking approach has
14 led Carmel Clay Schools to become one of the state's top
15 performing districts in standardized testing;
16 Whereas, Dr. Beresford's passion for mental health and
17 well-being allowed him to introduce Jim Dandee, a golden
18 retriever therapy dog for students and staff; and
19 Whereas, Dr. Beresford has been instrumental in advancing
20 academic excellence, fostering an inclusive school environment,
21 and implementing innovative educational programs: Therefore,

1 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly
2 of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives
3 concurring:
4 SECTION 1. That the Indiana General Assembly honors
5 Dr. Michael Beresford upon his retirement as Superintendent of
6 Carmel Clay Schools.
7 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
8 to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Dr. Michael Beresford.
