RESOLUTION No. _____
1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION congratulating the
2 Fishers Junior High School's "We the People" team.
3 Whereas, On December 10, 2024, the Fishers Junior High
4 School's "We the People" team took first place in the state
5 competition as the top middle school across the state of
6 Indiana;
7 Whereas, The team will have the opportunity to compete in
8 the "We the People" National Invitational which will take place
9 April 25-26, 2025;
10 Whereas, During the competition, teams of students
11 answered questions from panels of judges about the
12 Constitution and its application to contemporary issues;
13 Whereas, Involvement with the "We the People"
14 competition allows students to develop a greater understanding
15 of democratic principles of our constitutional republic and
16 prepares Indiana youth for a future that will encourage their
17 knowledge of and participation in our democratic system of
18 government; and
19 Whereas, The "We the People" program was developed by
20 the Center for Civic Education and is funded by the State of
21 Indiana and the Indiana Bar Foundation, who administers the
22 state "We the People" program to promote civic responsibility
23 and competence in students: Therefore;
24 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly

1 of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives
2 concurring:
3 SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate congratulates the
4 Fishers Junior High School "We the People" team on winning
5 the 2024 "We the People" middle school title.
6 SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
7 to transmit copies of this Resolution to each coach, Tony
8 Stugeon & Heather Butz, and each team member including
9 Milen Bajwa, Lily Cain, Raphael Co, Thu-Huong Doan,
10 Crawford Green, Evie Holladay, Aarna Ibrahimpatnam, Felipe
11 Lapitz Coduri, Griffin Murphy, Matei Nica, Matthew Perez,
12 Manasvi Pothuri, Audrina Rager, Stella Reynolds, Kendall
13 Robertson, Eli Rose, Raahil Shah, Beckett Snider, Summer
14 Seorts, Lucas Street, Ella Updike, and Kyle Wheeler.
