SENATE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION No. _____
1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION honoring the 20th
2 anniversary of Memorial MedFlight Service.
3 Whereas, Memorial MedFlight, a service of Beacon Health
4 System and Memorial Hospital, has provided air medical
5 transport services to the Michiana community since January
6 2006, operating from its base at the Elkhart Municipal Airport;
7 Whereas, Memorial MedFlight provides highly skilled
8 certified flight nurses and paramedic teams to care for adults
9 and children who are critically ill or injured;
10 Whereas, Memorial MedFlight responds twenty-four hours
11 a day, seven days a week as a transport service for any hospital
12 and any scene provider;

14 Whereas, Memorial MedFlight has touched the lives of
15 many by responding to a wide range of emergencies;
16 Whereas, Memorial MedFlight participates in trauma,
17 safety, and injury prevention activities along with additional
18 medical training;
19 Whereas, Memorial MedFlight pilots have training and
20 experience that exceed industry and Federal Aviation
21 Administration standards;
22 Whereas, The flight team has completed intense training in
23 all aspects of critical care air transport and participates in

1 ongoing education and evaluation;
2 Whereas, Safety is MedFlight's focus, expertise in treatment
3 and transport their speciality. Their air medical team is
4 supported by an aviation team of experienced pilots and
5 mechanics. Pilots are qualified for air medical transportation,
6 each with over 2,000 flight hours logged before becoming air
7 medical pilots; and
8 Whereas, Memorial MedFlight is committed to excellent
9 patient care and safe flight operations and has upheld a great
10 standard of care for 20 years: Therefore,
11 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly
12 of the State of Indiana, the House of Representatives
13 concurring:
14 SECTION 1. The Indiana General Assembly wishes to
15 congratulate Memorial Hospital Medflight on its 20th
16 anniversary and hopes for continued success.
17 SECTION 2. That copies of this resolution be transmitted
18 by the Secretary of the Senate to Memorial Hospital Medflight
19 and the City of South Bend.
