Dear Representative Tarwater:

SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for HB 2344 by House Committee on Commerce, Labor and
Economic Development

In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning HB 2344 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.

HB 2344 would increase the number of voting members of the Council on Travel and
Tourism from 17 to 20 by increasing the Governor-appointed members from 11 to 14, including
six members that would be appointed to represent the public and eight would be appointed to
represent several organizations listed in the bill. The bill would also change references from the
House Committee on Tourism and Parks to House Committee on Commerce, Labor and Economic
Development. In addition, the bill would decrease the percentage of moneys granted for promotion
of tourism to public entities or not-for-profit entities from 75.0 percent to 50.0 percent. The bill
would also make technical corrections.

The Kansas Department of Commerce and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks
indicate HB 2344 would not have a fiscal effect.

 	Sincerely,

 	Adam Proffitt
 	Director of the Budget
