The Honorable Kellie Warren, Chairperson
Senate Committee on Judiciary
300 SW 10th Avenue, Room 346-S
Topeka, Kansas 66612

Dear Senator Warren:

SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 190 by Senate Committee on Judiciary

In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 190 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.

SB 190 would amend current law to add a requirement that in addition to any conditions
of release in current law for a person charged with a felony, a magistrate would order the person
to executive a waiver of extradition stating that the person consents to extradition to Kansas and
waives all procedures incidental to extradition proceedings pursuant to the Uniform Criminal
Extradition Act or any other law if the person is arrested in another state while on bond. The
waiver must also include an acknowledgement that the person would not be released prior to trial
in any other state pending extradition to Kansas.

The Office of Judicial Administration states enactment of SB 190 would have a negligible
fiscal effect on the operations of the Judicial Branch.

 	Sincerely,

 	Adam Proffitt
 	Director of the Budget
