SESSION OF 2025 SUPPLEMENTAL NOTE ON HOUSE BILL NO. 2155 As Amended by Senate Committee on Judiciary Brief* HB 2155, as amended, would specify that sheriffs have liability for official acts of the sheriff and sheriff’s sureties related to the charge and custody of county jails. The bill also makes technical changes to update outdated language. The bill would be in effect upon publication in the Kansas Register. Background The bill was introduced by the House Committee on Judiciary at the request of a representative of the Kansas Sheriffs Association.
