Topeka, Kansas 66612

Dear Representative Thompson:

SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for HB 2273 by House Committee on Veterans and Military

In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning HB 2273 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.

HB 2273 would update the definitions of “veteran” and “disabled veteran” throughout
Kansas statutes to create common definitions that align with federal definitions and clarify
disability evaluations for benefits granted to disabled veterans.

According to the Kansas Office of Veterans Servicers, the Kansas Department for Aging
and Disability Services, and the Kansas Department of Revenue, enactment of HB 2273 would not
have a fiscal effect on the agencies.

 	Sincerely,

 	Adam C. Proffitt
 	Director of the Budget
