SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 12 by Senator Shallenburger
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 12 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
SB 12 would require each member of a board of county commissioners or local governing
body of a city whose district territory includes land being acquired to approve the exercise of
eminent domain for the acquisition when the land is to be used for a recreational project.
Both the League of Kansas Municipalities and the Kansas Association of Counties state
the enactment of SB 12 would not have a fiscal effect on local governments.
