The Honorable Mike Thompson, Chairperson
Senate Select Committee on Veterans Affairs
300 SW 10th Avenue, Room 136-E
Topeka, Kansas 66612

Dear Senator Thompson:

SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 200 by Senator Alley, et al.

In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 200 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.

SB 200 would designate Kansas as a Purple Heart State. The bill would require the
Governor to issue a proclamation recognizing the day, to be observed on August 7 of each year.
The Executive Director of the Kansas Office of Veterans Services would be required to promote
the observance of Purple Heart Day as outlined in the bill.

According to the Office of the Governor any fiscal effect associated with the enactment of
SB 200 would be negligible. The Kansas Office of Veterans Services reports there would be no
fiscal effect for the agency.

 	Sincerely,

 	Adam C. Proffitt
 	Director of the Budget
