SUBJECT: Fiscal Note for SB 211 by Senate Committee on Federal and State Affairs
In accordance with KSA 75-3715a, the following fiscal note concerning SB 211 is
respectfully submitted to your committee.
Currently, the Secretary of Wildlife and Parks is required to submit all proposed rules and
regulations to the Kansas Wildlife and Parks Commission. SB 211 would also allow members of
the Commission to submit proposed rules and regulations.
The Department of Wildlife and Parks would require $85,000 from its fee funds to hire
1.00 Legal Assistant position starting in FY 2026. The position would be necessary to review the
additional proposed rules and regulations by the Committee members. Any fiscal effect associated
with SB 211 is not reflected in The FY 2026 Governor’s Budget Report.
