AN ACT relating to school nurses and making an appropriation therefor. 1
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 2
SECTION 1. A NEW SECTION OF KRS CHAPTER 158 IS CREATED TO 3
READ AS FOLLOWS: 4
Beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, each local board of education shall ensure 5
that each elementary and secondary school in the school district has at least one (1) 6
full-time school nurse as funds and qualified personnel become available. 7
Section 2. There is hereby appropriated to the Support Education Excellence in 8
Kentucky budget unit General Fund moneys in the amount of $3,000,000 in fiscal year 9
2022-2023 and $3,000,000 in fiscal year 2023-2024 for the use of school districts in 10
employing school nurses as described in Section 1 of this Act. 11
