A JOINT RESOLUTION directing the Transportation Cabinet to designate the 1
Warren Lanham Memorial Highway in Daviess County. 2
WHEREAS, James Warren Lanham passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, 3
at the age of 72; and 4
WHEREAS, Warren Lanham, above all, loved God, family, his community, and his 5
country, serving his country in the United States Army for six years and his community as 6
a firefighter over 40 years; and 7
WHEREAS, Warren Lanham's career as a firefighter began as a volunteer with the 8
Knottsville Fire Department and concluded when he retired from the Daviess County Fire 9
Department as Assistant Chief in 2009; and 10
WHEREAS, Warren Lanham was a state-certified fire rescue instructor and 11
Kentucky-certified emergency medical technician who inspired many to take up the 12
profession; and 13
WHEREAS, Warren Lanham served as president of the Green River Firefighters 14
Association and volunteered his service on the East Daviess County Water Department, 15
the Knottsville Personal Care Home, the Knights of Columbus Council 16125, and 16
numerous parish activities; and 17
WHEREAS, Warren Lanham was well known for his carpentry and woodworking 18
skills; enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and just relaxing around a campfire with family 19
and friends; and especially loved time spent with his nine grandchildren; and 20
WHEREAS, Warren Lanham was survived by his wife of 51 years, their five 21
children, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and six brothers and sisters; and 22
WHEREAS, Warren Lanham's life of honorable service is worthy of tangible 23
recognition in his community; 24
NOW, THEREFORE, 25
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 26
ď˘Section 1. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate Kentucky Route 144 in 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 22 RS BR 1240

Daviess County, from the intersection with Knottsville-Mt. Zion Road (mile point 1
10.453) to the Hancock County line, as the "Warren Lanham Memorial Highway" and 2
shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, erect appropriate signs 3
denoting this designation. This designation will supersede any previous honorary 4
designation for this portion of Kentucky Route 144. 5
