A RESOLUTION condemning Russia's unprovoked military aggression and 1
invasion of the sovereign state of Ukraine. 2
WHEREAS, the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Kentucky 3
recognize the sovereignty, political independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine 4
within its internationally recognized borders; and 5
WHEREAS, as a nation and Commonwealth, we condemn the use of force against 6
the territorial integrity or political independence of any State; and 7
WHEREAS, Kentuckians value democratic freedom and the right of any sovereign 8
state to determine its own future; and 9
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Senate rejects violence and aggression toward another 10
nation-state; and 11
WHEREAS, Kentucky condemns the military invasion and attacks of Ukraine and 12
denounces Russia's aggression; 13
NOW, THEREFORE, 14
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 15
Kentucky: 16
Section 1. The Senate hereby condemns Russia's unprovoked military 17
aggression and invasion of the sovereign state of Ukraine. 18
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 19
Resolution to the office of Senator Morgan McGarvey. 20
