A RESOLUTION honoring Steve Kring upon his retirement from the Legislative 1 
Research Commission. 2 
WHEREAS, Steve Kring was born on February 20, 1950, and grew up in Woodford 3 
County. He graduated from Woodford County High School in 1968. Upon graduation, he 4 
worked in the private sector prior to starting a full-time position with the Legislative 5 
Research Commission in 1987; and 6 
WHEREAS, Steve Kring began his Legislative Research Commission career as a 7 
committee aide and he was able to learn many vital aspects of the agency. In 1996, he was 8 
promoted to Inventory and Maintenance Supervisor. Through this position, Steve has 9 
demonstrated, time and time again, how valuable he is to legislators, staff, and public; 10 
and 11 
WHEREAS, Steve Kring is an irreplaceable and instrumental behind-the-scenes 12 
leader. The work performed by the Inventory and Maintenance Office is always on 13 
display but performed away from the public eye; and 14 
WHEREAS, Steve Kring supervises his exceptional crew in setting up meeting 15 
rooms; providing equipment for out-of-town meetings; repairing furniture; maintaining 16 
LRC vehicles; keeping track of inventory; coordinating office moves; and working with 17 
other agencies to plan building renovations. Additionally, Steve Kring is known by 18 
legislators and peers alike as the man to call to get the job done. Over the years, he has 19 
become an interior decorator, electrician, and climate control specialist. Steve Kring has 20 
always found a solution to any minor or major inconvenience presented to the Legislative 21 
Research Commission; and 22 
WHEREAS, Steve Kring is rightfully honored on this day for his exemplary service 23 
to the Commonwealth. He is respected throughout the agency by both partisan and 24 
nonpartisan staff, excellent in his work, and dedicated to the Legislative Research 25 
Commission. The Senate justly acknowledges his unfailing and honorable service to the 26

Steve Kring is commended and granted best wishes for the next chapter in his life;  1 
NOW, THEREFORE, 2 
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 3 
Kentucky: 4 
Section 1.   The members of the Senate hereby salute Steve Kring and express 5 
their sincere appreciation for his service to the General Assembly and Legislative 6 
Research Commission upon his retirement. 7 
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor of Steve 8 
Kring, Supervisor of Inventory and Maintenance. 9 
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 10 
Resolution to Senator Robert Stivers for delivery. 11
