A JOINT RESOLUTION directing the Transportation Cabinet to rename the Irene 1
Patrick Memorial Highway in Boone County as the Charles and Irene Patrick Memorial 2
Highway. 3
WHEREAS, the Irene Patrick Memorial Highway in Boone County was designated 4
by the General Assembly in 2019 Ky. Acts ch. 81, sec. 2; and 5
WHEREAS, Charles A. "Pat" Patrick was the loving husband of Irene Patrick until 6
her death on December 23, 2007; and 7
WHEREAS, Charles Patrick served his community as the Boone County 8
Magistrate; and 9
WHEREAS, Charles Patrick was a member of the Hebron Church of Christ, the 10
Masons, and Shriners International; and 11
WHEREAS, Charles Patrick was the owner of Patrick's Auto Parts in Hebron, 12
Kentucky; and 13
WHEREAS, Charles Patrick passed away on September 18, 2022, at his home, and 14
is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild; and 15
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the life of Charles Patrick be publicly 16
recognized alongside that of his loving wife; 17
NOW, THEREFORE, 18
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 19
ď˘Section 1. The Transportation Cabinet is directed to change the name of the 20
"Irene Patrick Memorial Highway" in Boone County to the "Charles and Irene Patrick 21
Memorial Highway" and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, 22
erect appropriate signs denoting the new designation. 23
