A RESOLUTION confirming the appointment of James D. Nickell to the Parole 1
Board. 2
WHEREAS, on August 4, 2022, in accordance with KRS 439.320 and by virtue of 3
Executive Order 2022-484, Governor Andy Beshear appointed James D. Nickell to the 4
Parole Board for a term expiring August 3, 2026, to replace Brenda Beers-Reineke; and 5
WHEREAS, the appointment is subject to Senate confirmation; and 6
WHEREAS, James D. Nickell has been determined to meet the requirements of 7
KRS 439.320, with Mr. Nickell having the requisite experience in penology, correction 8
work, law enforcement, sociology, law, education, social work, medicine, or a 9
combination thereof, or having previously served at least five years on the Parole Board; 10
NOW, THEREFORE, 11
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 12
Kentucky: 13
Section 1. The Senate hereby confirms the appointment of James D. Nickell to 14
the Parole Board. 15
Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate shall forward a copy of this Resolution and 16
notification of its adoption to James D. Nickell of Frankfort, Franklin County, Kentucky 17
and to Governor Andy Beshear, State Capitol, Room 100, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601. 18
