A RESOLUTION to adjourn the Senate in honor and loving memory of Eli Lane 1
Hill. 2
WHEREAS, a native son of Kentucky, Eli Lane Hill was born on June 11, 2014, to 3
Adam and Ashley Hill; and 4
WHEREAS, Eli Lane Hill departed this earth unexpectedly due to an accident 5
while playing basketball on March 20, 2023, and in his eight years he made indelible 6
impression on the hearts of his family, classmates, teammates, and community of Corbin, 7
Kentucky; and 8
WHEREAS, Eli Lane Hill will be remembered for the many wonderful attributes 9
that sparked a community in remembrance and mourning of a treasured young citizen; 10
and 11
WHEREAS, Eli Lane Hill's faith and commitment to God serve as comfort and 12
solace to his family and members of the Shiner Church of Christ. Eli was an active 13
participant in children's church, Vacation Bible School, and was known for carrying 14
around a copy of the Bible to read in his spare moments at school and in the car; and 15
WHEREAS, Eli Lane Hill enjoyed all sports, and he was known for his ability to 16
cite statistics and facts about basketball, football, and baseball. He played baseball with 17
the Corbin Bombers and was an encouraging and resourceful teammate that was able to 18
jump in and play any position when needed. Recently, he had especially loved playing 19
the position of catcher; and 20
WHEREAS, the greatest joy for Eli Lane Hill was to spend time playing with his 21
father. They spent time together playing video games, practicing baseball, playing 22
basketball, or enjoying the amusement of their own game they created called stair ball; 23
and 24
WHEREAS, Eli Lane Hill brought joy and shared a spark of life to everyone he 25
encountered. He continues to share his light as his family chose to donate his organs to 26

WHEREAS, Eli Lane Hill leaves behind many treasured memories and will be 1
forever carried in the hearts of his parents; his sister, Allie; and his brother, Asa. 2
NOW, THEREFORE, 3
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 4
Kentucky: 5
Section 1. The Senate hereby extends its most profound sympathy upon the 6
passing of Eli Lane Hill and expresses heartfelt condolences to his family in this time of 7
loss. 8
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 9
memory of Eli Lane Hill. 10
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this 11
Resolution to Senator Brandon Storm for delivery to the family. 12
