UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 1213 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 12/19/2023 11:46 AM Jacketed A JOINT RESOLUTION designating the Fort Campbell 101st Airborne Division 1 Memorial Highway in Trigg County. 2 WHEREAS, on March 30, 2023, two Army Black Hawk helicopters from Fort 3 Campbell crashed in Trigg County during a training exercise; and 4 WHEREAS, nine members of the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell 5 perished in the crash; and 6 WHEREAS, the soldiers killed during the accident were Warrant Officer 1 Jeffrey 7 Barnes, Corporal Emilie Marie Eve Bolanos, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Zachary Esparza, 8 Sargent Isaacjohn Gayo, Staff Sargent Joshua Gore, Warrant Officer 1 Aaron Healy, 9 Staff Sargent Taylor Mitchell, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Rusten Smith, and Sargent David 10 Solinas Jr.; and 11 WHEREAS, after the tragic accident, Major General Joseph McGee, Commanding 12 General of the 101st Airborne Division, stated that "this is a time of great sadness for the 13 101st Airborne Division. The loss of these soldiers will reverberate through our 14 formations for years to come;" and 15 WHEREAS, the nine young soldiers killed in the accident all came from different 16 backgrounds, but were united in a love of their country and a dedication to serving the 17 people of the United States; and 18 WHEREAS, these nine soldiers' lives were tragically cut short in service to the 19 United States and its people, and it is fitting that their loss be honored in some tangible 20 way; 21 NOW, THEREFORE, 22 Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 23 ď˘Section 1.
