UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 1900 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 1/31/2024 4:23 PM Jacketed A RESOLUTION honoring the hard work of Kentucky teachers. 1 WHEREAS, the future of the Commonwealth of Kentucky depends upon providing 2 quality education to all students; and 3 WHEREAS, teachers across the Commonwealth carry out a major responsibility in 4 preparing our young people to assume their roles as effective citizens; and 5 WHEREAS, the success of our children and communities are considerably 6 influenced by exemplary teachers who devote their hearts and minds to helping our 7 public schools and youth excel; and 8 WHEREAS, the teaching profession should be afforded high public esteem, and 9 reflect a community's value on public education; and 10 WHEREAS, teachers spend countless hours preparing lessons, evaluating progress, 11 counseling, and coaching students all while acting as role models, motivators, and 12 mentors for students throughout the Commonwealth; and 13 WHEREAS, the General Assembly recognizes the hard work of the more than 14 40,000 teachers across the Commonwealth who serve more than 638,000 students in the 15 state; and 16 WHEREAS, teachers are challenged daily to reach all students regardless of ability, 17 interest, social or economic background, handicap, race, religion, creed, or ethnic origin 18 to provide the instruction, assistance, and guidance necessary for full development; and 19 WHEREAS, teachers are fully committed to the success and continued advocacy of 20 Kentucky students; and 21 WHEREAS, teachers across the Commonwealth continue to shape the future of the 22 next generation of Kentuckians; and 23 WHEREAS, the General Assembly recognizes and supports its teachers in 24 educating students across the Commonwealth; 25 NOW, THEREFORE, 26 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 1900 Page 2 of 2 XXXX 1/31/2024 4:23 PM Jacketed Commonwealth of Kentucky: 1 Section 1.
