A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION urging Kentucky's congressional delegation to 1
support passage of the National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act for support of 2
Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. 3
WHEREAS, the economy and security of our nation is interdependent upon global 4
actions, and we cannot operate in a vacuum isolated within our borders; and 5
WHEREAS, there is an opportunity to continue our role as a global leader to 6
uphold the American ideals of freedom and democracy and take actions against the 7
potential attacks of our critical partners; and 8
WHEREAS, the United States has a vested interest to support allies and partners 9
around the world, and particularly to bolster those that are enduring significant 10
geopolitical challenges; and 11
WHEREAS, inaction to seize opportunity and maintain our leadership in the world, 12
emboldens our enemies and threatens our national security, endangers our free markets, 13
and endangers our democratic principles; and 14
WHEREAS, the security and stability of nations in peril such as Ukraine, Israel, 15
and Taiwan are essential for global peace and security; and 16
WHEREAS, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the regional threats faced by Israel, 17
and increasing tensions in the Taiwan Strait necessitate robust support from the United 18
States and its allies; and 19
WHEREAS, the passage of legislation to provide funding that allocates resources to 20
Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan to aid and enhance their defense capabilities would 21
demonstrate our unwavering commitment to these valued partners; and 22
WHEREAS, the assistance from our nation and support of our leaders is crucial to 23
deter aggression, promote stability, and safeguard democratic values that are shared 24
between these nations, the United States, and our Commonwealth; and 25
WHEREAS, Kentucky has a proud history of supporting measures that enhance 26

NOW, THEREFORE, 1
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 2
Kentucky, the House of Representatives concurring therein: 3
Section 1. The Kentucky General Assembly respectfully urges Kentucky's 4
congressional delegation to prioritize and engage in active support of passage of 5
supplemental funding that includes support and funding to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan 6
that provide a way forward. 7
Section 2. The members of the Senate and House of Representatives call upon 8
our United States Senators and Representatives to advocate for robust and bold funding 9
allocations to assist these nations in obtaining necessary resources to sustain and defend 10
the lives of their people. 11
Section 3. We encourage our congressional delegation to work collaboratively 12
with elected officials from other states to ensure bipartisan support for this crucial 13
legislation to ensure our security and stability, nationally and worldwide. 14
Section 4. The Clerk of the Senate shall send copies of this Concurrent 15
Resolution to the Clerk of the House of Representatives of the United States, the Clerk of 16
the Senate of the United States, and each member of the Kentucky congressional 17
delegation. 18
