A JOINT RESOLUTION designating the Tom Brahm Memorial Highway in 1
Marion County. 2
WHEREAS, Thomas Eugene "Tom" Brahm, son of the late Norbert Lee Brahm, Sr. 3
and Nell Peterson Brahm, was born August 6, 1958, in Marion County, and passed away 4
on April 17, 2023; and 5
WHEREAS, Tom Brahm was the President of Brahm Trucking Service, which he 6
founded in 1980, and was a real estate agent and auctioneer with The Lancaster Agency; 7
and 8
WHEREAS, Tom Brahm served for over 15 years in Loretto's local government. 9
He was first elected to the city's commissioner's board in 2006 and was serving his third 10
term as mayor at the time of his passing; and 11
WHEREAS, among his colleagues, Tom Brahm is remembered as an impassioned 12
and unerring advocate for the Loretto community as well as a dear friend; and 13
WHEREAS, Marion County Judge-Executive David Daughtery described Tom 14
Brahm as a "true public servant" and said "he was just a good guy at the end of the day 15
and cared about not only Loretto but the entire community and our whole county"; and 16
WHEREAS, Tom Brahm was a past Grand Knight and 4th Degree member of the 17
Knights of Columbus Council 1264 in Lebanon and was a member of the Holy Rosary 18
Catholic Church in Manton; and 19
WHEREAS, Tom Brahm is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debbie Brahm; his 20
sons, Tom and James; grandson Camden Stiles; and 10 siblings; and 21
WHEREAS, Tom Brahm was a beloved member of his community and it is fitting 22
and proper that his contributions be memorialized in some tangible way; 23
NOW, THEREFORE, 24
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 25
ď˘Section 1. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the portion of Kentucky 26
Route 49 in Marion County, from West Marion Elementary School (mile point 25.531) 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 385

north to Hughes Lane (mile point 26.253), as the "Tom Brahm Memorial Highway" and 1
shall within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, erect appropriate signs 2
denoting this designation. 3
