UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS SJR 58/GA Page 1 of 5 SJR005810.100 - 208 - XXXX 3/21/2024 5:12 PM GA A JOINT RESOLUTION designating honorary names for various roads and 1 bridges. 2 WHEREAS, from time to time, the General Assembly has seen fit to honor various 3 Kentuckians by naming portions of state highways and erecting commemorative roadway 4 signs in their honor; and 5 WHEREAS, these Kentuckians have come from all walks of life, held a multitude 6 of jobs, and had a variety of accomplishments that made them deserving of the honor; 7 and 8 WHEREAS, these individuals have included former Governors, former members of 9 the General Assembly, decorated veterans, slain law enforcement officers, local elected 10 officials, astronauts, doctors, educators, distinguished athletes, and civic leaders; and 11 WHEREAS, every citizen of the Commonwealth owes a great debt of gratitude to 12 the patriotic men and women killed and wounded in service to their country in times of 13 great need; and 14 WHEREAS, the General Assembly has often honored the veterans of this state by 15 naming portions of several roads, from interstates to small two-lane country roads, in 16 their honor; and 17 WHEREAS, the General Assembly again sees fit to honor a group of individuals 18 who have made the lives of their fellow Kentuckians better and brought honor and 19 respect to the Commonwealth; 20 NOW, THEREFORE, 21 Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 22 Section 1. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the portion of Kentucky 23 Route 293, within the city limits of Princeton, as the "Chief Deputy Jody Wayne Cash 24 Memorial Highway" and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, 25 erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. 26 Section 2. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate Kentucky Route 371 in 5 Kenton County, from its intersection with Anderson Road to its intersection with Western 6 Reserve Road, as the "Michael Scott 'Bubba' Wilson Memorial Highway" and shall, 7 within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, erect appropriate signage denoting 8 this designation. 9 Section 4. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the portion of Kentucky 10 Route 49 in Marion County, from West Marion Elementary School (mile point 25.531) 11 north to Hughes Lane (mile point 26.253), as the "Tom Brahm Memorial Highway" and 12 shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, erect appropriate signs 13 denoting this designation. 14 Section 5. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the bridge on Kentucky 15 Route 3091 crossing the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Parkway in Pulaski County (Bridge 16 Number 100B00121N) as the "Reverend C.E. Jacobs Memorial Bridge," and shall, within 17 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting this 18 designation. 19 Section 6. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the bridge on United 20 States Route 27 in Pulaski County, crossing Pitman Creek (Bridge ID #100B00107L and 21 #100B00032R), as the "Jim and Mary Jo Sharpe Memorial Bridge" and shall, within 30 22 days of the effective date of this Resolution, erect signs denoting this designation. 23 Section 7. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the portion of Kentucky 1 Route 292 in Martin County, from the intersection of KY-292 and KY-3213 2 (approximately mile point 26.1) to the intersection of KY-292 and KY-3 (mile point 3 28.9), as the "PFC Larry Gene Ratliff Memorial Highway" and shall, within 30 days of 4 the effective date of this Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. 5 Section 9. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the portion of Kentucky 6 Route 2049 in Jefferson County, from its intersection with Kentucky Route 1934 to mile 7 point 1.7, as the "Cozy and Linnes Chester Memorial Highway" and shall, within 30 days 8 of the effective date of this Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. 9 Section 10. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the bridge on Kentucky 10 Route 122 in Floyd County at mile point 23.334 (Bridge Number 036B00006N) as the 11 "L.G. Frazier Memorial Bridge" and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this 12 Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. 13 Section 11. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the bridge on Kentucky 14 Route 192 in Laurel County over the CSX Railroad at mile point 21.030 (Bridge Number 15 063B00098N) as the "Christopher Hubbard Memorial Bridge" and shall, within 30 days 16 of the effective date of this Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. 17 Section 12. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the Mine Fork bridge on 18 Kentucky Route 1081 in Magoffin County at mile point 14.95 as the "Berry Caudill 19 Memorial Bridge" and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, erect 20 appropriate signs denoting this designation. 21 Section 13. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the Salyersville bridge 22 on Kentucky Route 7 in Magoffin County at mile point 25.055 as the "Julian Patrick 23 Memorial Bridge" and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, erect 24 appropriate signs denoting this designation. 25 Section 14. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the portion of Kentucky 3 Route 2020 in Magoffin County, from mile point 0.00 to mile point 0.07, as the "Robert 4 Cheek Memorial Highway" and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this 5 Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. 6 Section 16. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the portion of Kentucky 7 Route 1593 in Magoffin County, from mile point 3.22 to mile point 3.63, as the "Oliver 8 Lykins Memorial Highway" and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this 9 Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. 10 Section 17. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the portion of Kentucky 11 Route 867 in Magoffin County, from mile point 3.28 to mile point 3.74, as the "Winford 12 Arnett Memorial Highway" and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this 13 Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. 14 Section 18. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the portion of Kentucky 15 Route 1471 in Magoffin County, from mile point 3.27 to mile point 4.16, as the "Henry 16 Bailey Memorial Highway" and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this 17 Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. 18 Section 19. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the portion of Kentucky 19 Route 1593 in Magoffin County, from mile point 2.157 to mile point 2.569, as the "Oval 20 Gray Amyx Memorial Highway" and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this 21 Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. 22 Section 20. The Transportation Cabinet shall honor the accomplishments of 1 Julie Reeves Davis by including her on the Country Music Highway on United States 2 Highway 23 in Boyd County near Ashland, and shall, within 30 days of the effective date 3 of this Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. 4 Section 22. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the portion of Kentucky 5 Route 1 in Carter County, from United States Route 60 at mile point 10.646 to the 6 Interstate 64 overpass at mile point 11.546, as the "Assistant Fire Chief Duane Suttles 7 Memorial Highway" and shall, within 30 days of the effective date of this Resolution, 8 erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. 9 Section 23. The Transportation Cabinet shall designate the bridge on Kentucky 10 Route 227, on the Owen-Carroll county line over Eagle Creek (Bridge #094B00029N), as 11 the "Staff Sergeant Christopher Stout Memorial Bridge" and shall, within 30 days of the 12 effective date of this Resolution, erect appropriate signs denoting this designation. 13
