UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 1975 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 2/7/2024 1:09 PM Jacketed A RESOLUTION recognizing February 2024 as Career and Technical Education 1 Month in Kentucky and February 13, 2024, as Career and Technical Education Student 2 Leadership Day. 3 WHEREAS, the Association for Career and Technical Education established the 4 theme "Celebrate Today, Own Tomorrow!" for Career and Technical Education (CTE) 5 Month, February 2024; and 6 WHEREAS, the Kentucky Association for Career and Technical Education 7 commemorates CTE Month with CTE Student Leadership Day on February 13, 2024; 8 and 9 WHEREAS, approximately 400 representatives of Kentucky's CTE programs and 10 their advisers are participating in CTE Student Leadership Day, which consists of a 11 formal citizenship educational program and the opportunity to tour the State Capitol and 12 meet with their representatives and senators; and 13 WHEREAS, CTE Student Organizations provide secondary and postsecondary 14 students the opportunity to develop leadership skills and further explore possible career 15 options, both of which enhance their ability to achieve success in life and become future 16 leaders in the Commonwealth of Kentucky; and 17 WHEREAS, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America State President 18 Maura Hartman, a student at Mason County High School, Future Business Leaders of 19 America (FBLA) State President Katie Switzer, a student at Nicholas County High 20 School; and FBLA Region 5 President Joseph Hazelett, a student at Mason County High 21 School, represent all CTE Student Organization members and CTE students before this 22 body today; 23 NOW, THEREFORE, 24 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 25 Kentucky: 26 Section 1.
