A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Ray 1 
William "Roy" Moffit Sr. 2 
WHEREAS, Ray William "Roy" Moffit Sr. was born on May 10, 1940, to Richard 3 
and Francis Moffit; and 4 
WHEREAS, Roy Moffit began employment at the age of 16 when he began a 30-5 
year employment journey with the J.T. Groggins construction company; and 6 
WHEREAS, after working in construction, Roy Moffit ventured into 7 
entrepreneurship by mowing, building, and taxi cabbing. He was a jack-of-all-trades; and 8 
WHEREAS, Roy Moffit was a God-fearing man who professed his faith by way of 9 
Catholicism, but was no stranger to other churches, where he would visit and fellowship 10 
with many different church members and believers. He was a man after God's own heart; 11 
and 12 
WHEREAS, Roy Moffit left this earthly world and was called home on February 13 
13, 2024, and was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Mary (Charles) Moffit-14 
Cowherd and Lynda Moffit; sons, Roy Moffitt Jr. and Morris Spalding; and brothers, 15 
Kelly and Joe Moffit; and 16 
WHEREAS, Roy Moffit is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Jaqueline 17 
Moffit; daughters, Diane, Marilyn, Jackie, Raychelle, Allison (Bruce); sons, Ray Jay, 18 
Micheal (Rhonda), and Richard; sisters, Carrie "Patsy" and Janette; brother, John 19 
"Shorty"(Carolyn), 33 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-20 
grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and best friends, Jimmy (Jane) 21 
Higdon, Beam Boy, and Bobbi Keeling; 22 
NOW, THEREFORE, 23 
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 24 
Kentucky: 25 
Section 1. The members of the Senate do hereby honor the life and 26 
accomplishments of Ray William "Roy" Moffit Sr. 27  UNOFFICIAL COPY  	24 RS BR 2148

Section 2.   When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 1
