UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 2415 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 2/28/2024 11:48 AM Jacketed A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Rand 1 Leslie Marshall. 2 WHEREAS, Rand Leslie Marshall was born on August 29, 1961, in Georgetown, 3 Kentucky, to Virgil Chapman Marshall and the late Mildred LeVerne Marshall; and 4 WHEREAS, Rand Leslie Marshall was strong in his faith, and in addition to his 5 active membership at Tates Creek Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Kentucky, he 6 served on the board of the Providence Christian School as well as The Amen House in 7 Georgetown; and 8 WHEREAS, Rand Leslie Marshall was dedicated to the study and practice of law. 9 After graduating from Georgetown College and the University of Kentucky College of 10 Law, he went on to spend his career serving his community in the office of the Scott 11 County Attorney, retiring in 2022 as the Scott County Attorney; and 12 WHEREAS, Rand Leslie Marshall was an avid athlete and sports fan who enjoyed 13 playing softball, working out at the gym, and watching horse racing and the Dallas 14 Cowboys; and 15 WHEREAS, Rand Leslie Marshall was a great lover of rock music, and especially 16 enjoyed listening to his favorite band, Night Ranger; and 17 WHEREAS, Rand Leslie Marshall was a committed family man whose family and 18 friends were his great joy in life; and 19 WHEREAS, on December 2, 2023, Rand Leslie Marshall traversed these earthly 20 bounds in certain hope of resurrection and welcome into the loving embrace of his Lord 21 and Savior; and 22 WHEREAS, Rand Leslie Marshall is survived by his beloved family, including his 23 father Virgil; wife Kim, affectionately known as "Kimber"; children Evan (Tania) Sharp, 24 Erin Sharp (Matthew) Alred, and Rees Marshall; grandchildren Christopher Sharp, 25 Anderson Sharp, Andrew Alred, and Emmett Alred; brothers Keith Marshall and Lane 26 (Mary) Marshall; parents-in-law Mike Katherine Paynter; siblings-in-law Kevan and Sue 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 2415 Page 2 of 2 XXXX 2/28/2024 11:48 AM Jacketed Evans, and Keith and Claudia Evans; and nieces and nephews Camille Marshall, Patrick 1 Marshall, Josh Evans, Jennifer Evans, Jenny Evans, Heather Holmes, Richard Holmes, 2 Rachel Wilhoite, Matt Wilhoite, and Noelle Evans; who honor his memory and his 3 legacy; 4 NOW, THEREFORE, 5 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 6 Kentucky: 7 Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby express their most profound 8 sympathy upon the passing of Rand Leslie Marshall. 9 Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 10 memory of Rand Leslie Marshall. 11 Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 12 Resolution to Senator Damon Thayer for presentation to the family. 13
