UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 2532 Page 1 of 1 XXXX 4/9/2024 10:37 AM Jacketed A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Betty Lou 1 Epling Matney. 2 WHEREAS, Betty Lou Epling Matney was born on November 3, 1927, in Grundy, 3 Virginia, the daughter of Jimmy James and Roma Looney Epling; and 4 WHEREAS, Betty Matney was a resident of Elkhorn City, Kentucky, a member of 5 the Little Beaver Church of Christ, and a homemaker; and 6 WHEREAS, Betty Matney passed away at home on April 5, 2024. She was 7 preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Henry Matney; her brothers, John 8 Henry, Thomas, Billy Jack, Jimmy Jr., and Reed Epling; and her sisters, Norma Epling, 9 Opal Williams, Orva Wild, and Ruby Little; and 10 WHEREAS, Betty Matney is survived by her sons, Bobby (Eleanor) Matney and 11 Danny (Sherry) Matney; her daughter, Judy Phillips; her grandchildren, Elizabeth 12 Phillips, Nathan Matney, and Amy Rowe; and her great-grandchildren, Evan Myers, Ian 13 Robert Myers, Andrew Myers, Emily Myers, Kaylee Matney, Karly Matney, Ava Rowe, 14 and Aiden Rowe; 15 NOW, THEREFORE, 16 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 17 Kentucky: 18 Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby extend their most profound 19 sympathy upon the passing of Betty Lou Epling Matney. 20 Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 21 memory of Betty Lou Epling Matney. 22 Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 23 Resolution to Senator Phillip Wheeler for delivery to the family. 24
