A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of James Paul 1 
Wright. 2 
WHEREAS, James Paul Wright was born in Hellier, Kentucky, on May 16, 1929, 3 
the son of the late Clarence Edward Wright and Molly Ratliff Wright; and 4 
WHEREAS, James Paul Wright worked in heavy construction for years, including 5 
construction of the Fishtrap Dam and the Armington Science Building at the University 6 
of Pikeville. It was said he was the best steel tier around; and 7 
WHEREAS, after his career in construction, James Paul Wright worked as a 8 
property manager for Friend Realty Company for over 30 years; and 9 
WHEREAS, in his free time James Paul Wright stayed busy by finding joy in 10 
helping family, neighbors, and friends. He loved animals and always took care of them 11 
when they found their way to his door. In the last year of his life, he enjoyed watching 12 
geese and ducks that were in the pond behind his home; and 13 
WHEREAS, on Saturday, March 30, 2024, James Paul Wright departed this earthly 14 
life at the age of 94; and 15 
WHEREAS, in addition to his parents, James Paul Wright was preceded in death by 16 
siblings Don Edward Wright, LouAnna Wright, Thomas Earl Wright, Ernest Wright, and 17 
Ernestine Wright; and 18 
WHEREAS, James Paul Wright is survived by brother, Raleigh (Linda) Wright; 19 
sister, Dolly Wright Ratliff; nephews, James Lambros, Mike Lambros, Dr. Terry Wright, 20 
and Judge Robert F. Wright; nieces, Kathy Lambros, Kim Wright, and Carla Ratliff; 21 
three great-nephews, four great-nieces, and two great-great-nephews; and 22 
WHEREAS, James Paul Wright was humble and kind throughout his entire life. All 23 
who loved him. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him; 24 
NOW, THEREFORE, 25 
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 26

Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby express their most profound 1 
sympathy upon the passing of James Paul Wright. 2 
Section 2.   When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 3 
memory of James Paul Wright. 4 
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 5 
Resolution to Senator Phillip Wheeler for delivery to the family. 6
