UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 2535 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 4/10/2024 10:37 AM Jacketed A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Charles 1 "Bud" Compton. 2 WHEREAS, Charles "Bud" Compton was born on March 3, 1938, to his parents, 3 the late James Archie Compton and Mary Francis Fleming Compton; and 4 WHEREAS, Charles "Bud" Compton worked for over 25 years as a truck driver for 5 R.H. Hobbs Company, over 40 years as an electrician, and was employed as a tech with 6 the Pike County Board of Education; and 7 WHEREAS, Charles "Bud" Compton was a faithful member of the Pikeville 8 Freewill Baptist Church; and 9 WHEREAS, on Monday, February 26, 2024, Charles "Bud" Compton departed this 10 earthly life at the age of 85 in certain hope of resurrection and welcome into the loving 11 embrace of his Lord and Savior; and 12 WHEREAS, Charles "Bud" Compton was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila 13 Compton; sisters, Barbara Faye Akers, Patty Harmer, and an infant; and brothers, Teddy, 14 John, Quentin, Bobby, Mark, and Jerry Compton; and 15 WHEREAS, Charles "Bud" Compton is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; son, 16 Darrin (Rita) Compton; sister, Buncie Bryant; grandchildren, Benjamin Craig Compton, 17 Chasity Hope Newsom, Makayla Faith Skeans, and Christa Noell Baker; great-18 grandchildren, Marshall, Maverick, Gracelin, Taylor, Elijah, Lincoln, and Clay; and a 19 host of loving family and friends who will miss him dearly; 20 NOW, THEREFORE, 21 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 22 Kentucky: 23 Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby express their most profound 24 sympathy upon the passing of Charles "Bud" Compton. 25 Section 2.
