UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 2517 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 4/3/2024 11:13 AM Jacketed A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of William 1 "Mac" Tucker. 2 WHEREAS, William "Mac" Tucker was born on February 8, 1938, in Marshall 3 County, Kentucky, to the late William "Ed" and Grace Beatrice Tucker; and 4 WHEREAS, Mac Tucker attended Draughon's Business College and Murray State 5 University; and 6 WHEREAS, in his early career, Mac Tucker excelled in car sales at Parker Ford in 7 Murray, before becoming part owner. He eventually sold his stake in the dealership to 8 become co-owner of Leon Riley Ford in Benton; and 9 WHEREAS, Mac Tucker's entrepreneurial drive did not stop with car sales. He 10 developed much of the Draffenville area with his brother, Terry, including Gateway 11 Shop-O-Rama, Food Giant, and Draffenville Pizza, in addition to residential 12 subdivisions; and 13 WHEREAS, Mac Tucker walked proudly through life guided by his unwavering 14 faith, actively serving his church, Unity Cumberland Presbyterian, as a Sunday School 15 superintendent and later as an elder for over four decades; and 16 WHEREAS, in his leisure time, Mac Tucker enjoyed hitting the links at Benton and 17 Calvert City golf courses, and watching University of Kentucky basketball and St. Louis 18 Cardinals baseball. He also cherished his time spent as a snowbird with his beloved wife, 19 Donna, splitting their moments in the sun between Kentucky and Florida; and 20 WHEREAS, Mac Tucker passed from this life to the next on March 29, 2024; and 21 WHEREAS, in addition to his parents, Mac Tucker was preceded in death by his 22 nephew, Craig Tucker. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Donna June Tucker; three 23 daughters, Vicki (Doug) Wynn, Kimberly (Robert) Ham, and Renee (Bob) Ridley; 24 brother, Terry (Phyllis) Tucker; six grandchildren, Heather (Dan) Hall, Nathan (Heather) 25 Wynn, Ryan (Jess) Ridley, Hayley Fountain, Blake (Hannah) Fountain, and Robyn 26 (Matthew) York; five great-grandchildren, Georgia Hall, J.T. Hall, Jack Fountain, Branch 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 2517 Page 2 of 2 XXXX 4/3/2024 11:13 AM Jacketed York, and Lindy Ridley; along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews; 1 NOW, THEREFORE, 2 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 3 Kentucky: 4 Section 1. The members of the Senate hereby extend their most profound 5 sympathy upon the passing of William "Mac" Tucker, and posthumously thank him for 6 his contributions to his community and to the Commonwealth of Kentucky. 7 Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 8 memory of William "Mac" Tucker. 9 Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 10 Resolution to Senator Danny Carroll for delivery to the family. 11
