A RESOLUTION condemning the Iranian air attack on Israel on April 13, 2024. 1 
WHEREAS, on the evening on April 13, 2024, Iran launched a direct air assault 2 
against Israel utilizing hundreds of drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles; and 3 
WHEREAS, Israel, and with the help of allies in the region, was able to intercept 99 4 
percent of the drones and missiles before they entered the Israel airspace and was 5 
successful in defeating the attack to defend the nation; and 6 
WHEREAS, the retaliatory actions of Iran have augmented the destabilization of 7 
the region and threaten escalation of the regional conflict; and 8 
WHEREAS, the international community and global leaders are united in urging a 9 
coordinated diplomatic response to promote stabilization of the region; and 10 
WHEREAS, the Senate of this Commonwealth recognizes and commends the 11 
expertise and skill of United States military servicemembers that played a pivotal role in 12 
assisting Israel in the defense from the Iranian air assault; and 13 
WHEREAS, the size of the assault launched by Iran was capable of catastrophic 14 
consequences for the people of Israel, and the Senate condemns the dangerous and 15 
unprecedented attack on Israel; 16 
NOW, THEREFORE, 17 
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 18 
Kentucky: 19 
Section 1. The members of the Senate, both collectively and individually, 20 
condemn the Iranian air attack against the State of Israel on April 13, 2024. 21 
Section 2.   When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in recognition of the 22 
Commonwealth's admiration for the resilience of the Israeli people, and in support of the 23 
stabilization of the region and the end of the crisis in Gaza. 24 
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 25 
Resolution to Senator Whitney Westerfield. 26
