UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 1678 Page 1 of 2 XXXX 1/22/2024 2:56 PM Jacketed A RESOLUTION recognizing and honoring Representative Brandon Reed. 1 WHEREAS, Representative Brandon Reed is a man of faith; a devout husband to 2 Olivia; a proud father of Chloe, Alexandria, and Wilkin; a dedicated public servant; and a 3 dear friend to those who know him; and 4 WHEREAS, Representative Brandon Reed is a staunch supporter of the 24th House 5 District, serving parts of Green, Hart, and LaRue Counties from 2017 until his recent 6 retirement; and 7 WHEREAS, Representative Brandon Reed made Hodgenville and the rest of his 8 district better through the funding he secured as vice-chair of the House Appropriations 9 and Revenue Committee, improving roads, supporting tourism, expanding broadband, 10 and strengthening the county's agriculture industry; and 11 WHEREAS, Representative Brandon Reed has always been front-and-center in 12 legislative efforts, championing numerous bills and provisions over the finish line. These 13 efforts have made Kentucky a better place to live; and 14 WHEREAS, Representative Brandon Reed is the recipient of numerous 15 professional awards and honors, including the National Conservative Leadership Award; 16 Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Lead Where You Stand Award; Mental Health of America 17 National Leadership Award; Rural Mental Health and Suicide Prevention National 18 Leadership Award; Kentucky Association of County's Champion; Kentucky League of 19 City's Champion; Kentucky Family Foundation Champion; Kentucky Chamber MVP; 20 and Lincoln’s Boundary Oak Gavel Award; and 21 WHEREAS, Representative Brandon Reed has dutifully served the Commonwealth 22 of Kentucky and has made an outstanding and long-lasting impact on its citizens and on 23 the Kentucky House of Representatives. His retirement will leave a void not easily filled, 24 and he leaves a legacy for others to emulate; and 25 WHEREAS, Representative Brandon Reed will now serve as executive director of 26 policy for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, influencing public policy positively 27 UNOFFICIAL COPY 24 RS BR 1678 Page 2 of 2 XXXX 1/22/2024 2:56 PM Jacketed in order to benefit Kentucky's agriculture industry; 1 NOW, THEREFORE, 2 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 3 Kentucky: 4 Section 1. The Kentucky Senate does hereby honor the extraordinary service of 5 Representative Brandon Reed to the Commonwealth of Kentucky upon his retirement. 6 His commitment and dedication to public service were, and will continue to be, a boon to 7 all Kentuckians. 8 Section 2. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 9 Resolution to Senator Jimmy Higdon for delivery to Representative Brandon Reed. 10
