A RESOLUTION honoring 2024 Kentucky Teacher of the Year, Kevin Dailey. 1
WHEREAS, this august body holds in highest esteem those educators who go 2
above and beyond their daily duties to become standard-bearers in their profession, and 3
whose work touches their students' lives in profound and indelible ways; and 4
WHEREAS, in this spirit, the members rightfully congratulate and commend Kevin 5
Dailey upon being named the 2024 Kentucky Teacher of the Year; and 6
WHEREAS, a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky where he received 7
both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Social Studies Secondary Education, Kevin 8
Dailey teaches United States History at Ballyshannon Middle School in Union, 9
Kentucky; and 10
WHEREAS, Kevin Dailey is a lifelong learner himself, having attended the Foreign 11
Policy Association's Great Decisions Teacher Training Institute and the University of 12
Louisville's McConnell Center for Teaching Scholars. He has also been certified to teach 13
the "We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution" program; and 14
WHEREAS, Kevin Dailey has taught in China through the University of 15
Kentucky's Confucius Institute and went on to teach at Gallatin County High School 16
before coming to Ballyshannon Middle School, where he has taught for more than two 17
years; and 18
WHEREAS, Kevin Dailey is known as an advocate for fact-based instruction and 19
equity and for empowering his students to move on to high school well prepared for the 20
Advanced Placement courses the majority of them take; and 21
WHEREAS, this body stands on this day to honor an educator of the first order, 22
Kentucky's 2024 Teacher of the Year, Kevin Dailey; and 23
WHEREAS, in so doing, the members congratulate Kevin Dailey on this 24
extraordinary honor and grant him very best wishes as he continues to serve as an 25
inspiration to the students of Ballyshannon Middle School; 26

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 1
Kentucky: 2
Section 1. The Senate hereby honors Kevin Dailey upon being named the 2024 3
Kentucky Teacher of the Year. 4
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and utmost 5
commendation of Kevin Dailey. 6
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 7
Resolution to Kevin Dailey, 5607 Woolper Road, Petersburg, Kentucky 41080. 8
