AN ACT relating to building trade professions. 1
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: 2
ď˘Section 1. A NEW SECTION OF KRS CHAPTER 198B IS CREATED TO 3
READ AS FOLLOWS: 4
(1) The department shall recognize and allow on-the-job training equivalencies of 5
internship and cooperative placement hours to count toward the hours necessary 6
to obtain licensure in a profession regulated by the department, including but not 7
limited to electrician, plumbing, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning 8
licenses. 9
(2) The maximum equivalencies to count toward licensure under subsection (1) of 10
this section shall be: 11
(a) For electrician licenses, up to four thousand (4,000) hours; 12
(b) For plumber licenses, up to two (2) years; and 13
(c) For heating, ventilation, and air conditioning licenses, up to three thousand 14
(3,000) hours. 15
(3) The department shall establish a reporting system under this section through the 16
promulgation of administrative regulations in accordance with KRS Chapter 17
13A. 18
