A RESOLUTION recognizing March 2025 as Developmental Disabilities 1
Awareness Month. 2
WHEREAS, Kentucky recognizes the unlimited potential for all citizens, including 3
those with developmental disabilities, to live, work, and thrive in the Commonwealth's 4
communities; and 5
WHEREAS, Kentucky is committed to recognizing that every person, regardless of 6
perceived ability, has valuable strengths, infinite capacity to learn and make decisions, 7
and the capability to make valuable contributions to their communities if given the 8
opportunity to do so; and 9
WHEREAS, Kentucky is making positive changes by promoting equality of 10
opportunity, access, and choice for Kentuckians with developmental disabilities; and 11
WHEREAS, the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Kentucky is 12
committed to the promise of a Kentucky in which all people have the knowledge, 13
opportunity, and influence to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others; and 14
WHEREAS, Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is an opportunity to 15
recognize the importance of ensuring inclusive environments with equal access to 16
communication, education, meaningful employment, housing, transportation, and public 17
accommodations; 18
NOW, THEREFORE, 19
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the 20
Commonwealth of Kentucky: 21
Section 1. The House of Representatives hereby recognizes March 2025 as 22
Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. 23
Section 2. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a 24
copy of this Resolution to Representative Rachel Roarx. 25
