He departed these earthly bounds on November 11, 2024; and 4 WHEREAS, Donnie Gene Bowling was known for his straightforward opinions 5 and a knack for saying exactly what was on his mind. He was never one to shy away 6 from a good debate, preferably on his front porch; and 7 WHEREAS, Donnie Gene Bowling had a love for horses, cherished good company, 8 and he had an unwavering deep devotion to his family; and 9 WHEREAS, Donnie Gene Bowling was a dedicated 50-year member of the 10 Thomas C. Cecil #375 F & AM Lodge and the El Hasa Shrine Temple; and 11 WHEREAS, in addition to his parents, Donnie Gene Bowling was preceded in 12 death by his older brother, Thadeus; and his sister, Vickie; and 13 WHEREAS, Donnie Gene Bowling is survived by his loving sister, Connie 14 Compton; his cherished children, Ryan Bowling, Sarah (Harry Sheffield) Bowling, 15 Amanda (Jeremy) Holbrook, and Donnie Kristan Bowling; and four grandsons, Justin 16 (Destiny) Bowling, Bryce Bowling, Gavin Holbrook, and Bentley Holbrook, each of 17 whom carries on a piece of his spirit, strong will, and unmistakable humor; 18 NOW, THEREFORE, 19 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 20 Kentucky: 21 Section 1. The Senate hereby expresses its most profound sympathy upon the 22 passing of Donnie Gene Bowling. 23 Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving 24 memory of Donnie Gene Bowling. 25 Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this 26 Resolution to Senator Phillip Wheeler for delivery to the family. 27
