Requires the Louisiana Department of Health to implement the Medicaid health home option for persons with serious mental illness (RR INCREASE GF EX See Note)
Expresses support of and provides authority for actions by the Board of Supervisors of the Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College for the strategic collaboration with the division of administration and the Department of Health and Hospitals in planning for a new model of health care delivery throughout the Lake Charles region.
Requests the Department of Health and Hospitals to protect certain hospitals from the negative financial consequences of the closure of the Earl K. Long Medical Center by adequately compensating such hospitals for their increased burden of providing health care to the poor and uninsured residents of the greater Baton Rouge region.
Directs the Department of Health and Hospitals to submit a request to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to extend Louisiana's Section 1115a demonstration waiver for the Greater New Orleans Community Health Connection and authorizes the governor and the secretary of the department to identify a source or sources for matching of non-federal funds required under the extended waiver.
Authorizes and directs the secretary of the Department of Health and Hospitals to submit a Section 1115 Medicaid demonstration waiver to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Requests that the Dept. of Health and Hospitals, Dept. of Children and Family Services, and State Bd. of Elementary and Secondary Education study jointly the coordination of mental health and counseling resources for students
Directs the Department of Health and Hospitals to submit a Section 1115 Medicaid demonstration waiver to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services designed to protect Medicaid and uninsured services being delivered and complement existing upper payment limit funding programs.
Provides for funding of state hospitals operated by the Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College. (8/1/15)
