HOUSE BILL NO. 127

PROPERTY/PUBLIC:  Authorizes transfer of certain property to the Calcasieu Parish
Police Jury
AN ACT1
To authorize and provide for the transfer or lease of certain state property in Calcasieu2
Parish to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury from the division of administration; and3
to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. The commissioner of administration, notwithstanding any other provision6
of law to the contrary, is hereby authorized and empowered to convey, transfer, assign, lease,7
and deliver any interest, excluding mineral rights, the state may have to the following8
described property to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury:9
Portion of Block (or Lot) Eleven (11) of BEN BILBO SUBDIVISION of the10
Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (NE/4 of SW/4) and the Southeast11
Quarter of the Northwest Quarter (SE/4 of NW/4) of Section 33, Township 9 South,12
Range 8 West, as per plat recorded in Conveyance Book 33 page 63 records of13
Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, being more particularly described as: The West 40 feet14
of: Commencing at the Southeast corner of the property purchased by Onezime15
Geyen from A.W. Carlson in Conveyance Book 55 at page 333, thence West a16
distance of 80 feet, thence North a distance of 190 feet, thence East a distance of 8017
feet, thence South a distance of 190 feet to the point of commencement.18
Section 2. The commissioner of administration, on behalf of the state of Louisiana,19
is hereby authorized to enter into such agreements, covenants, conditions, and stipulations20
and to execute such documents as are necessary to properly effectuate any conveyance,21 HLS 10RS-374	ORIGINAL

transfer, assignment, lease, or delivery of title, excluding mineral rights, to the property1
described in Section 1 herein, and as more specifically described in any such agreements2
entered into and documents executed by and between the commissioner of administration3
and the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, in exchange of consideration proportionate to the4
appraised value of the property.5
Section 3. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not6
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature7
by the governor, as provided in Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.  If8
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become9
effective on the day following such approval.10
