Regular Session, 2010 HOUSE BILL NO. 1314 BY REPRESENTATIVE HARDY CRIME/SEX OFFENSES: Provides with respect to sex offender registration and notification requirements AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 15:542.1(A)(5), relative to sex offenders; to provide relative to sex offender2 notification requirements; and to provide for related matters.3 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4 Section 1. R.S. 15:542.1(A)(5) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 5 ยง542.1. Notification of sex offenders and child predators6 A. Any adult residing in this state who has pled guilty to, has been convicted7 of, or where adjudication has been deferred or withheld for the perpetration or8 attempted perpetration of, or conspiracy to commit, a sex offense as defined in R.S.9 15:541 or a criminal offense against a minor as defined in R.S. 15:541 shall be10 required to provide the following notifications:11 * * *12 (5) Post the number of his physical address in a conspicuous place on the13 outside of his residence. Present law provides that sex offenders and child predators are required to provide certain notifications to local law enforcement and the community. Present law provides certain penalties for the failure to comply with sex offender registration and notification requirements. Proposed law retains present law and adds the posting of the number of the offender's physical address in a conspicuous place on the outside of the residence to the list of present law notification requirements.
